GCU ORGANISES “REHMATALLIL ALAMEEN (PBUH) CONFERENCE”

GC University’s Arabic and Islamic Studies Department organised one-day “Rehmatallil Alameen (PBUH) Conference” in connection with the university’s 150 years celebrations. GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman chaired the conference while University of Punjab Islamic Studies Department Chairman Prof Dr Muhammad Saad Sadiqui, PU Hajveri Chair Prof Dr Zahoor Ahmed Azhar, Prof Dr Hafiz Saad Ullah, Prof Dr Hafiz Mehmood Akhtar, GCU Department of Islamic Studies Dr Muhammad Sultan Shah and a large number of students were also present there.

 
 

GCU Vice Chancellor in his address said that Islam is the solution of every problem. He said, “Scientists and researchers should consult the Holy Quran and take guidance from it in their research work.” He highlighted the contributions of Muslims scientists like Ibn Al-Haytham, Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina and Al-Khazini.

PU Islamic Studies Department Head Prof Dr Muhammad Saad Sadiqui, giving the reference of Michael H. Hart’s book “The 100, a Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History”, said that he gave Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) first number in the ranking of most influential persons in the history of human being. , Prof Saad quoted Michael Hart as “My choice of Muhammad (PBUH) to lead the list of the world's most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels.” Prof Dr Hafiz Mehmood Akhtar said that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gave us life-long teachings of the ethics, culture and values. He said that before Islam, the Arabs were ignorant, but the Prophet (PBUH) changed their lives and the world as well.
